Completed in 2022, this work reflects a personal journey from Ohio, the birthplace of flight, to the mountainous landscapes of California. Symbols from each state —California poppies, the grizzly bear, and the mountain lion alongside Ohio’s cardinal, whitetail deer, and dogwood blossoms — are woven into a colorful tapestry of memory and a transition of identity.
